Governance
The BCNAR is governed by an Executive Committee. The Executive Committee develops Network priorities including strategic planning. It is comprised of representatives from the main research-intensive public universities in each of BC's five Health Authorities, (SFU, UBC, UBC-Okanagan, UNBC, and UVIC).
The current Executive Committee is comprised of:
- B. Lynn Beattie, MD, FRCPC (Chair), UBC - Vancouver Coastal Health Authority
- Gloria Gutman, PhD, SFU - Fraser Health Authority
- Dawn Hemingway, MSc, MSW, UNBC - Northern Health Authority
- Elaine Gallagher, RN, PhD, UVIC - Vancouver Island Health Authority
- Colin Reid, PhD, UBC Okanagan - Interior Health Authority
- Andrew Wister, PhD, (Chair-Elect) SFU - Fraser Health Authority
An Advisory Committee provides input and direction for the activities of the Network.
An Oversight Committee provides guidance and support to the operations of the Network.
The Research Network Coordinator for BCNAR is located at the Gerontology Research Centre, Simon Fraser University. The Research Network Coordinator is Bobbi Symes.
There are five Regional Liaison Officers to facilitate aging research within each of BC's five health regions.
The BCNAR Secretariat is located at the Gerontology Research Centre, Simon Fraser University. The Secretariat Administrator is Lorraine Krakow.
