Melinda is a recent graduate from the University of Northern British Columbia, School of Social Work with a Masters degree. Her research explored the health needs of older women in northern BC.

Along with her role as Northern Regional Liaison Officer for BCNAR, she is also the Northern Research Coordinator for the BC Home and Community Care Research Network. Prior to moving to BC Melinda lived in Windsor Ontario where she worked with older adults in a number of different capacities, including Case Manager for the Community Care Access Center, Program Manager for the Alzheimer Society, and Certified Capacity Assessor for the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General.
