Mieke Koehoorn, Dr.
Dr. Mieke Koehoorn, UBC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia and the President of the Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health. She also holds appointments in the Centre for Health Services & Policy Research and School of Occupational & Environmental Hygiene, UBC and the Institute for Work and Health, Toronto. Dr. Koehoorn’s research focuses on occupational injuries and diseases, including projects investigating the risk of cardiovascular disease among fire fighters, back injuries among workers in heavy industry, injuries among young workers, and asthma among British Columbia workers. She is also actively involved in developing occupational and environmental research data as part of the Population Health and Learning Observatory, a Canada Foundation for Innovation project.
