Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport launches its new SeniorsBC.ca website; SFU Seniors Program Premieres its Latest Outreach Project DVD

The SFU Seniors Program is pleased to invite the public to a special March premiere of its 6th Outreach Project DVD, entitled A Place for Everyone: Age-Friendly Communities, which will be launched in concert with the Ministry of Healthy Living's new website: SeniorsBC.ca.

Guest speakers will include SFU President and Vice-chancellor Michael Stevenson, Minister of Healthy Living and Sport, Ida Chong, and Continuing Studies Dean, Tom Nesbit.

The Ministry’s website launch will be followed by the 40-minute Outreach DVD, which will explore how we can make our communities more accessible and inclusive for older adults, and how seniors can be more involved in promoting age-friendly communities across Canada. The roundtable discussion DVD is moderated by CBC Radio Host Mark Forsythe, who hosts his own day-time show called BC Almanac.  Featrued panelists include architect and planner Lewis Villegas, Gerontologist Dr. Elaine Gallagher, and the City Program Director, Gordon Price.

This free event is open to the public, and there are no reservations required. Seating will be available first-come-first-served. After the presentation, coffee and cookies will be served.
